Karen Frye is currently an autism/ behavior specialist for a local school district. She also serves as the executiv
e director of The Purple Cow Farm. During her 25 years as an educator, Ms. Frye has served as a teacher of autism, interrelated special education teacher, autism consultant, primary teacher, and reading specialist. In addition, Ms. Frye was the previous Director of the Kansas Resource Center for Autism in Emporia, Kansas. She has served on the Kansas Governors Commission on Autism and specializes in Structured Teaching and Social Thinking strategies.
Shay Daake is currently the Director of Special Education for a local school district. Shay has been an educator for 24 years and has served students from preschool through college. She is certified in both general education and special education. In addition to her work in the public school setting, Shay taught special education courses for two years at Marian College in Indiana and worked on the committee with Southwestern College to develop the functional program for teachers.
Angela is a senior assistant district attorney for the Office of the District Attorney in the Eighteenth Judicial District of Kansas. She has previously served as Deputy Attorney General for the Division of Consumer Protection and Antitrust in Kansas and as an assistant district attorney in the 7th Judicial District of Kansas. Angela graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Rebecca Peronteaux is our board secretary. She is a special education coordinator and teaching specialist for a local school district. During her years as an educator, she has served as an intervention specialist, sheltered programming classroom teacher, and instructional coach.
Nevada Raitt is a certified public accountant. He is a controller at a mid-sized company headquartered in Wichita, KS. He also operates a small company that assists charities on certain fund raisers.
